Would You Rather Book Tag

Hello to the void! So I’m going to be doing the “Would You Rather” Book Tag. I was tagged by Ashlee at Books Are 42. This tag is a bit different because after I’ve answered the questions given to me by my tagger, I get to make new questions that anyone I tag will have to answer.

Rules:

  • Answer the questions given to you by your nominator.
  • Make up your own questions and tag others

The Question I Got

1.Would you rather spill coffee/tea on your current read or be forced to read it with greasy fingers.

I would definitely prefer to read with greasy fingers, because the way I hold and turn my pages, doesn’t really allow for finger prints to be left on the page

2.Would you rather only be able to read new releases or only read backlist books.

This one is a little hard. I don’t usually care when a book comes out but I think I would choose to only read new releases because I like to think that story telling and different elements in books improve as time goes on. Do you get what I’m saying?

3. Would you rather crack the spines of a paperback or dog-ear the pages?

So I do both of these. But for the sake of these tag, I’m going to choose to only dog-ear pages from now on, because it goes with the way I annotate my books.

4. Would you rather only be able to read the first and last books of a trilogy or have to wait three years for the final book to come out?

I would rather wait three years. I don’t have an explanation for this.

5.Would you rather only read series or only read stand alone?

I would rather only read series. I think that with series I could be immersed in worlds and the lives of characters for much longer and with much more details. I also think that any genre could be a series but not every genre can feel complete as a standalone (With fantasy standalone I’m usually left wanting more of the story)

6. Would you rather your favourite book be turned into a movie or a tv show?

I would rather it be a tv show because I feel like the creators always try to fit make the movie fit within a certain length and as a result cut out a lot of details that they feel are important which always ends up with the movie lacking something. But with a tv show they have the freedom to keep all the details and spread them across multiple episodes or maybe go in a different direction and make the tv show a “loose adaptation” which I usually end up liking.

7. Would you rather the adaptation of your favourite book be badly cast or leave out your favourite scenes?

I think I would rather that adaptation leave out my favourite scenes. I’m answering this question using a past experience. When I watch the Percy Jackson movie ( A dumpster fire of an adaptation, an okay movie if it is completely separated from the books I guess.) I was upset about everything but the thing that would always be at the top of my “Why it’s trash list” is that the characters (ages, appearance etc) were all wrong.

8. Would you rather have dinner with your favourite author or your favourite character?

I think I would prefer to have dinner with my favourite character because I know them, I’ve seen all their sides and I know how we relate and how we differ.

9. Would you rather kill your favourite character or spend the rest of your life with your least favourite villain?

I couldn’t handle the all the emotions that would come from killing my favourite character so I worth rather spend the rest of my life with my least favourite villain.

10. Would you rather only read your favourite genre for two years straight or be allowed to read anything but your favourite genre for two years straight?

I have more than one favourite genre so I get to cheat and read multiple genres in those two years that I can only read my favourite.

The Questions I Ask

1.Would you rather read every novel by having a page of the book delivered to you once a week or have the words in a book disappear after you’ve read them?

2.Would you rather visit your favourite fictional world but die before the story begins or kill your favourite character’s worst enemy and have them hate you for it?

3.Would you rather kill one half of your OTP or be a spectator has the character death that hit you the hardest happens over and over again?

4.Would you rather only be able to read in uncomfortable positions or get hungry every time you read but never be able to eat while reading?

5.Would you rather marry your fictional crush or your real life crush?

6.Would you rather have rain as a background noise while you’re reading or a crackling fire place?

7.Would you rather read a book with chapter names or no page numbers?

8.Would you rather read your monthly TBR in one sitting or read one book every four months for the rest of your life?

9.Would you rather your favourite character be your neighbor but you never get to meet them or have your neighbor be a librarian who only recommends you terrible books?

10.Would you rather only drink coffee while reading if you’re thirsty or only drink soda?
